The weather here in Auckland is distinctly miserable-cold, grey and blah. I’m hiding in my study and working on Highwater again. Distracted by a wood pigeon that is perched on the corner of the roof and drinking water out of the gutter. Tuis drop by and bath in the gutters too. I’ve forbidden my husband from putting guards up on this part of the house for this very reason!
I think I’ve mentioned before how setting/environment is really inspirational for me. Case in point are these 2 photos I found on Pinterest. I’m studying them and thinking about how I can work them into the book to create a couple of ‘atmospheric’/’creepy’ scenes…
