Romantic Suspense “reads” for June

Well! So much for posting once a week. Good intentions and all that… we’ve had a bout of the dreaded Covid in our household over the past few weeks. Weirdly, I seem to be immune. Considering selling my genes for some cash (kidding!)

Anyway, things have returned to ‘normal’ again and I’m back working on Highwater. I’m trying to ‘immerse’ myself in romantic suspense titles so I thought I’d go back to listing books I’m reading.

First up…

Janie Crouch Shamrock

Shamrock – Janie Crouch

All luck runs out eventually.

Violet Collingwood thought the windowless room where her kidnappers have held her for the past three days was the worst possible place she could be.

She’d been so very wrong. She’s now arrived in hell.

Aiden Teague left covert ops behind with the Special Forces, but he’s doing one last mission as a favor to a friend. He’s undercover with the worst kind of scum to help stop the sale of classified documents.

But there’s another kind of sale going on—and as soon as Aiden sees her terrified green eyes, he knows this mission just got a hell of a lot more complicated.

His codename has always been Shamrock. The lucky one.

He’s going to need every bit of it to get them out alive.

USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestselling author Janie Crouch brings you that perfect book you’ve been looking for to escape everyday reality—and a hero you can believe in. This protective alpha warrior won’t leave her behind, no matter what. Full length novel with no cliffhanger, no cheating, and a happily-ever-after guaranteed.

Sandra Brown Sting

Sting – Sandra Brown

Number One New York Times bestselling author Sandra Brown returns with another suspenseful thriller

When Jordie Bennet and Shaw Kinnard lock eyes across a disreputable backwater bar, something sparks. Shaw’s dangerous vibe makes men wary and women sit up and take notice… Jordie included. It’s an unlikely meeting. She doesn’t belong in a seedy dive on the banks of a bayou, but here she is…and Shaw Kinnard is there to kill her.

Jordie’s certain her time is up, but Shaw has other plans. He abducts her, hoping to get his hands on the thirty million dollars her brother has stolen. However, he’s not the only one looking for the fortune. Now on the run from the feds and a notorious criminal, Jordie and Shaw must rely on their wits – and each other – to stay alive.

Miles away from civilization, Jordie’s only chance of survival is to outwit Shaw, but it soon becomes clear that neither is entirely trustworthy. Was she in on her brother’s scam, or is she an innocent pawn? And just how valuable is her life to Shaw? Burning for answers – and for each other – this unlikely pair make a desperate move that could be their last.

With nonstop plot twists and the tantalizing sexual tension that has made Sandra Brown one of the world’s best-loved authors, STING will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the final pages.

I’m off to Christchurch in a little bit for work and to see family so only time to read two novels this month if I still want to fit some writing in.
