I’m a bit late as per usual but here is my monthly reading wrap up.
Once again my winner is Nora Roberts with Montana Sky. You can see why Nora is Nora. Her books just have some extra magic. Plus that Mercy Ranch is my dream home … without the animal heads and all the murder and mystery of course!
Anway, here is the list of books I’ve read this month:
MONTANA SKY – NORA ROBERTS
When Jack Mercy dies, he leaves behind a ranch worth twenty million dollars. Now his three daughters – each born of a different mother, and each unknown to the others – have gathered to hear the reading of the will. But Jack has one last surprise for them. Before anyone can inherit, they must live together on the ranch for one year.
For Tess, a sophisticated city-girl who just wants to collect her cash and get back to LA, it’s a nightmare. For Lily, on the run from her abusive ex-husband, it’s a refuge. And for Willa – who grew up on the ranch – it’s an infuriating intrusion.
They are sisters … and strangers. But when a brutal enemy threatens to destroy them all they must face the impossible challenge: to put their bitterness aside and live like a family.
THE BROKEN GIRLS – SIMONE ST. JAMES
THEY WON’T FORGIVE. THEY WON’T FORGET.
1950 – At the crumbling Idlewild Hall school for unwanted girls, four room-mates begin to bond over dark secrets and whispered fears – until one of them mysteriously disappears . . .
2014 – Journalist Fiona Sheridan can’t get over the murder of her sister twenty years ago, near the ruins of Idlewild. And when another body is found during renovations of the school, she begins to uncover horrors that were meant to remain hidden – and a voice that won’t be silenced.
For fans of Lisa Jewell and S.K. Tremayne, The Broken Girls is a chilling story of murder, revenge, and secrets that refuse to stay buried . . .
HIDDEN- REBECCA ZANETTI
Hide. That’s all Pippa can do to escape the terror chasing her. But now that she’s off the grid in a safe house, she finds plenty of interesting things to watch through the window. Like her new neighbor, with his startling green eyes, killer smile, and sexy bad-boy tattoo . . .
Run. Malcolm West is fleeing the hell he unleashed in his last assignment as an undercover cop. A backwoods bungalow sounds like the perfect place to start over. Until he discovers he’s been set up . . .
Fight. Someone’s gone to a lot of trouble to bring them together. No matter how much he resents that, and his own driving needs, Malcolm will have to dig deep and let loose the banished killer inside himself, or Pippa’s fears could come true faster than the flip of a bolt in a lock . . .
HOT SEAL LOVER – LYNN RAYE HARRIS
One night is all Christina wants from Navy SEAL Remy “Cage” Marchand.
But one night will never be enough for him…
Christina Girard did everything right, but she can’t escape the taint of scandal caused by the implosion of her marriage. When she meets Remy, she feels broken beyond repair. Until he shows her she’s still capable of pleasure.
Remy lives his life slaying dragons for the innocent and vulnerable. He thought sweet Christina needed his strength too, but he was wrong. After a single night of bliss, she ghosts him.
But then Remy’s SEALS get a new mission: infiltrate a war-torn nation and rescue Christina before the enemy finds her. With bombs exploding, blood spilling, and survival uncertain, Remy does his duty and protects Christina. But he won’t succumb to her charms again.
Life in a war zone is intense, however, and vows mean nothing in the face of danger. Giving in is inevitable. Staying alive is not – especially when the greatest danger has yet to strike…
